CASD to Host Veterans’ Recognition Night October 11

The Chambersburg Area School District (CASD) will host a veterans' recognition event in conjunction with the Trojan home football game on October 11th at the Chambersburg Area Senior High School (CASHS). Gates will open for veterans at 5 PM, and a complimentary dinner will be served to veterans and their guests in the CASHS Cafeteria starting at 5:30 PM.

2002 CASHS Graduate Lt Col Andrew Harkins of the United States Marine Corps will officiate the coin toss.  Tailgate seating in the end zone area will be available throughout the game for veterans and their guests. The patriotic-themed half-time show will include special band and choral selections, and all veterans will be invited onto the field for recognition. After the half-time show, veterans will be welcome to enjoy refreshments and watch the remainder of the game from the tailgating area. Limited reserved parking for veterans and ADA placarded vehicles will be available in the CASHS faculty parking lot.

CASD Veterans' Recognition Night is sponsored by the Chambersburg Area School District; AMVETS Post 224, the Chambersburg Area Senior High School; the CASHS Navy Junior ROTC, Marching Band and Glee Club; the CASD Athletic Department, the CASD Food Service Department: Chambersburg Olive Garden; and Giant Food Stores.
