Happy Thanksgiving Break

Dear CASD Families,

The Holiday Season is upon us and we have many things to be thankful for, including our health and safety.  We are also very thankful for all our children and the gifts of joy they bring to us as we observe them growing and succeeding in daily and yearly activities.

The Chambersburg Area School District is tasked with educating 10,000 children in a safe and welcoming environment. Maintaining such an environment relies on the hard work of teachers, administrators, and staff. Parents/guardians also play an important role in modeling behavior that we expect in our students.

With that in mind, we ask that you take a moment during this Thanksgiving break to talk to your child(ren) about modeling prosocial behavior, or actions that benefit others, such as helping, cooperating, comforting, and being kind to others. By working together to set a positive example for children, we can achieve a school environment that is safe, nurturing, and engaging for learning. As a parent/guardian, we need your help in this regard.

We also ask that you reach out to our staff with any questions or concerns that you may have, as we continue to focus on our vision:

That every child achieves in school and attains the skills needed to achieve success in the future in a highly collaborative culture of honesty, trustworthiness and passion for our mission of bettering the lives of children.

From all of our staff, we wish you and your family a safe and restful Thanksgiving break. Thank you for working with the district on improving all that we do.

Best regards.

Dr. Dion Betts
