Racing for Success at Fayetteville Elementary School

On Friday, October 1, 2021, students at Fayetteville Elementary School took part in the Race for Education. They walked/jogged/ran as many laps as possible around a quarter-mile area for a one-hour period.

This was the first year for the new fundraising event. In lieu of a more "traditional" fundraiser, like candy or magazine sales, students and parents contacted family members, friends, and neighbors and asked them to "sponsor" students with donations made directly to the school.

In an incredible display of support and generosity, Fayetteville students raised over $12,000. For reaching their fundraising goal of $10,000, students earned medals, a fall field day, and Mr. Nelson had to have his hair dyed blue and silver.
