Remembering 9/11

Dear CASD families, employees, and members of the community,

Today marks 20 years since the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001. The attacks in New York, Virginia, and our home state of Pennsylvania, resulted in the tragic loss of nearly 3000 innocent lives.

Though our current K-12 students have no direct memory of the attacks, they live in a world forever altered by them. By remembering the events of 9/11, we can ensure that a new generation understands the pain and heroism that encapsulates that day.

As vigils and services are held throughout the nation, we encourage you to take a moment to reflect on those who were lost, and to honor the heroic first responders and regular citizens who gave their lives to save others.

Sincerely,
Dr. Dion Betts
Superintendent of Schools
Chambersburg Area School District
