According to the National Weather Service, excessive rainfall associated with Hurricane Ida is expected to continue into Thursday, resulting in considerable flash, urban, and river flooding impacts in parts of south-central Pennsylvania. The likelihood of downed trees and powerlines continues to pose dangerous conditions for transporting students to and from school for our over 250 square mile size district. As such all CASD buildings will be closed and students will complete assignments virtually tomorrow, Thursday, September 2nd. 

CASD will operate on a Flexible Instructional Day (FID) model, in which students are expected to complete assignments virtually via logging into their Google Classroom. Please note the following important information:

• All students will need to bring home their CASD issued Chromebooks.
• All students will receive communication about the Flexible Instructional Day through their assigned classes within their Google Classroom.  This communication will describe how to access instructional material, how to log attendance and how to request assistance for the day.
• Assignments and activities will be made available to students by 8:30 a.m. on the morning of the Flexible Instructional Day. Upon logging in, student’s participation will be electronically documented. 
• Students will be considered present for the Flexible Instructional Day upon verification of login status in the LMS or Google Classroom.  Students will have five school days to complete the Flexible Instructional Day activities to receive full credit for grading purposes only.
