Return to Typical 5 Day a Week In-person Instruction

Dear CASD Families,

As summer break begins for our students, District staff are hard at work preparing for the next school year. Below are a few important things you should know about:

  • In-person Instruction: Our plan at this juncture for the 2021-2022 school year includes a return to full 5 day a week in-person instruction. If your student is returning to in-person instruction from virtual learning or CAVE, please let your school know as soon as possible.
  • District Goals: We will continue to focus on district goals, ensuring that Chambersburg area students receive the quality education they deserve. These include:
    • Academic achievement
    • College & career readiness
    • High performing & capable employees
    • Financial stability & stewardship
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS): During the summer, CASD staff will continue to develop innovative ways to utilize our learning management systems. Teachers will continue to collaborate, use their creativity and individual student data to drive instruction.
  • COVID-19 Relief Funds: CASD will receive a third round of COVID related relief funds from the federal government. We have created a “Future of Learning Group” composed of staff and community members to advise on how these funds will be spent on behalf of serving children.

Thank you for your patience and support during this past year. We hope you and your child(ren) have a restful summer break.

Sincerely,

Dr. Dion Betts
Superintendent of Schools
Chambersburg Area School District
