Thaddeus Stevens Elementary School Recognized at February 25th Board Meeting for Distinguished School Designation
Administrators, teachers, students, and community members of Thaddeus Stevens Elementary School were presented with a Superintendent's Commendation at the February 25th regular board meeting for achieving a designation as a Title 1 Distinguished school. A Title I Distinguished School is either in the top 5% in achievement, in the top 5% for academic growth, or has made the greatest gains in achievement for all student groups.
In addition to the hard work of students and staff, Thomas Knepper, principal at Stevens Elementary School, also attributes the achievement to community engagement.
"I'm proud of our students, I'm proud of our staff who work tirelessly," said Mr. Knepper. "I also want to thank the community support that we received .The Stevens community is not just people inside the building. We get support from former students, former teachers and staff members, local business and churches, and more."
