Lurgan Elementary School Teacher Nominated to Attend Keystone Technology Innovators Summit
Lurgan Elementary teacher Mrs. Trina Snoke, was nominated by principal Paul Swope to attend the PAECT Keystone Technology Innovators Summit held at Shippensburg University.
Each school principal in Pennsylvania is invited to nominate a teacher for Keystone recognition and nominees may apply to attend Summit. Mrs. Snoke was chosen through a portfolio-based application which demonstrated her passion for education and technology.
She is a creative, innovative teacher who embraces best practices and technology integration in her classroom. Mrs. Snoke plans to work with Mr. Swope and the other Lurgan teachers throughout the year to advocate the use of technology as a transformative tool to nurture the intellect, innovation, and imagination of students.
The Summit is a week-long event where teachers spend time working in cohorts, attending pedagogical and technology-driven workshops, and building their personal learning networks (PLN). Additional highlights from the KTI Summit include keynote speakers, Edcamp or unconference sessions, and a STEAM hands-on event where participants engaged in 3D printing, coding, and robotics. The KTI Summit is organized by the Pennsylvania Association for Educational Technology and Communications (PAECT) which boasts a membership of over 450 educators from across Pennsylvania.
It is the goal of Summit to inspire attendees to return to their districts with heightened enthusiasm for technology-supported learning and embraces the ideas of develop, connect, lead, and advocate. Mrs. Snoke is excited to share her knowledge and passion with her colleagues at Lurgan Elementary.
“Keystone Innovators are model teachers that advocate the use of technology as a transformative tool to nurture the intellect, innovation, and imagination of students," said Christine Wolgemuth, CASD Director of Technology. "We’re excited that Mrs. Snoke will be sharing her knowledge and program resources with Lurgan!”
