C3 Learning Celebrates 2nd Year

In only its second year, C3 Learning is set to graduate 13 students in the 2018-19 year.  In its inaugural year (2017-18), C3 graduated 12 students. Each of these students is eligible to participate in graduation ceremonies and receive a CASD diploma from either CASHS or CMS. Due to the flexibility of C3’s program, five of the 2019 graduates were able to complete graduation requirements by January of 2019 getting a head start on the military, post secondary education or a career.

C3 Learning was also able to provide one of these seniors the opportunity to complete her education after she had dropped out of high school.  This student had a catastrophic home fire during her late secondary years which increased her family’s hardships.  She chose C3 so that she could utilize a healthy school schedule while maintaining a work schedule.  In her words, “I like C3 because it forced me to stay ahead of schedule.  My instructor always made sure I did my school work and helped me to finish this school year.  Mrs. Garland is an amazing teacher.”

C3 Instructors, all PA certified teachers, are integral to the success of online learning.  Online instruction varies from regular classroom instruction.  “My passion for teaching is the daily interaction with my students and watching them learn new information and concepts,” states Mrs. Garland.  “However, for some students, the daily distractions and interruptions of a school building does not work for them.  C3 allows students to still meet their academic requirements in an environment that suits their needs.  Fortunately, even with online learning, interaction still occurs on a daily basis but it is just virtual instead of in person, which sometimes works better for students.  My biggest success story will be watching my C3 student walk across the stage to receive her diploma!”    Congratulations to all of the C3 Learning 2019 seniors!!
