Chambersburg Area School District Announces New Official Trojan Logo
CHAMBERSBURG, PA – The Chambersburg Area School District is pleased to announce the official launch of a brand new logo design for the Chambersburg Trojan.
“We believe the new look builds upon the old, capturing the dignity and honor of the previous design, while adding a new contemporary feel,” explained Brian Miller, communications and marketing director for the district. “It’s our hope that this logo inspires pride and conveys the competitive nature of our schools, both in the classroom and in our sports programs.”
In the past, multiple versions of the Chambersburg Trojan logo had been in use by the district and community at large. Due to the inconsistencies in brand usage, a new design was sought to unify district schools, athletic groups, and Trojan fans around one logo.
In early October, 2017, a team of secondary school principals and members of the district administration began the rebranding process with graphic design firm VIP Branding. The look of the logo underwent numerous revisions and edits resulting in the new branding.
An early preview of the logo was given to sports marketing classes at Chambersburg Area Senior High School (CASHS) in November. Students were presented with the new designs and had the opportunity to ask questions and give their feedback. The vast majority of students were excited for the new, contemporary look of the Trojan.
The redesign initially began as a collaboration between the CASHS Student Store and the district Athletic Department. A redesign was sought as a way to help improve school spirit by having a unified logo, as well as providing a consistent look that would help improve apparel sales.
