WELCOME TO FALLING SPRING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
A 2017 Blue Ribbon School
Our school is located just east of Interstate 81 on Falling Spring Road in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Our school was built in 1965, and features the CASD cross country course, a school garden and large environmental center on the school grounds. Our two-deep building houses grades Kindergarten through fifth with a combined enrollment of approximately 280 students. Dr. Sarah Herbert is our school's regional principal and Mrs. Chasity Johnson serves as head teacher.
All Falling Spring Elementary students have access to technology resources in their classrooms; including Smart Boards, iPads and student Chromebooks. In addition to the regular curriculum, students participate in special subject classes in art, music, library, physical education, and have the opportunity to participate in string and band instrumental music instruction in forth and fifth grade. Our school offers after-school STEM and Girls Who Code Clubs, a monthly after-school Kindness Club for fourth and fifth grade students, a student-lead leadership committee called SOAR, and a Green Team created to teach environmental kindness by example through recycling and composting lunch waste for the school garden.
We are fortunate to have a supportive and active group of parents who make up our Parent Teacher Organization. Falling Spring PTO sponsors various activities for our students throughout the year and oversees our sports programs, fundraising efforts, book fairs, field day, yearbook, fall fun fest, classroom parties, science fair and assemblies - just to name a few. We encourage every family to get involved in the PTO and our school.
We are committed to your child's education. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding our school.
