  • Keeping parents informed and involved helps to assure student safety and improve student success. With today's on-the-go lifestyles, it has become increasingly difficult for schools to reach families quickly and effectively. This is why Chambersburg Area School District utilizes multiple tools to communicate information. The most up-to-date information can be found on our web site; however, the following tools may also be utilized. 

Social Media

  • One of our district goals is to improve communication.  As a part of our ongoing efforts to do just that, the CASD has expanded its social media presence through the use of Twitter and a District-wide Facebook page.  District happenings, highlights, upcoming events and general news will be regularly posted. Parents, students, staff and community members interested in district happenings are encouraged to follow us on the following social media channels:

Instant Notification System

  • The Blackboard Mass Notifications system is an essential tool for notification and communication. Within minutes of emergency, school officials can use Blackboard Mass Notifications to deliver a single, clear message to parents or guardians by way of an automated telephone message. Blackboard Mass Notifications can also be used to notify you of school closings or delays due to inclement weather, and other major events. Information will continue to be communicated through our district web page, local radio/television stations, Twitter and Facebook.

    This system will only work effectively if the contact information on file for your family is accurate. To verify your contact information, please call your child's school. To change the contact information, you must visit the school office and request a student information update form.

    Important announcements pertaining to district events are available by telephone 24-hours a day.

CASD Concern Hotline

  • The Chambersburg Area School District is now offering a Concern Hotline for parents/guardians.

    (717) 261-5662

    Messages can be left 24 hour a day, seven days a week, and will be returned Monday-Friday during normal business hours by a member of the CASD administration. 

    The hotline is NOT for emergency purposes.
