• Communications
  • Keeping parents informed and involved helps to assure student safety and improve student success. With today's on-the-go lifestyles, it has become increasingly difficult for schools to reach families quickly and effectively. This is why Chambersburg Area School District utilizes multiple tools to communicate information. The most up-to-date information can be found on our web site; however, the following tools may also be utilized.

District eNewsletter

  • SchoolCenter Picture

Be one of the thousands of Chambersburg Area School District residents and alumni to have the CASD eNewsletter delivered to your inbox. The CASD Employee eNewsletter is the district newsletter for administrators, teachers, and support staff.

Social Media

  • One of our district goals is to improve communication.  As a part of our ongoing efforts to do just that, the CASD has expanded its social media presence through the use of Twitter and a District-wide Facebook page.  District happenings, highlights, upcoming events and general news will be regularly posted. Parents, students, staff and community members interested in district happenings are encouraged to follow us on FaceBook, Twitter , and Instagram.

Share the News

CASD Concern Hotline

  • The Chambersburg Area School District is now offering a Concern Hotline for parents/guardians.

    (717) 261-5662

Messages can be left 24 hour a day, seven days a week, and will be returned Monday-Friday during normal business hours by a member of the CASD administration.

The hotline is NOT for emergency purposes.

Instant Notification System

  • School Messenger is an essential tool for notification and communication. Within minutes of emergency, school officials can use School Messenger to deliver a single, clear message to parents or guardians by way of an automated telephone message. School Messenger can also be used to notify you of school closings or delays due to inclement weather, and other major events. Information will continue to be communicated through our district web page, local radio/television stations, Twitter and Facebook.

This system will only work effectively if the contact information on file for your family is accurate. To verify your contact information, please call your child's school. To change the contact information, you must visit the school office and request a student information update form.

CASD Twitter Feed

  • The Chambersburg Area School District (CASD) is currently closed consistent with the Governor’s Emergency Declaration issued in response to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. During this mandated closure, CASD may not be able to respond to requests for public records under the Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law. The Office of Open Records (OOR) has advised that when a public entity is closed, that day is not a “business day” and does not count toward the five business days referenced in Section 901 of the RTKL, which governs the time period under which an agency must respond to a request. Consequently, CASD will process requests once it reopens. Further, unless you have an urgent need to access public records, please do not file any new RTKL requests at this time. If a submitting a request is necessary, please seek copies of records (preferably electronic) rather than in-person inspection. In-person inspection of records will not be possible during the current closure. Thank you for your patience during this unprecedented time.

In compliance with Pennsylvania's Right-to-Know Law , effective January 1, 2009, the CASD adopted the following policies and established clear procedures for our community members to obtain public records of interest. If you would like to request a public record, please use the following form, or contact the open records officer listed below for assistance.
