Welcome! Originally from the Johnstown, PA area, I am pleased to continue my teaching career at Chambersburg Area and super excited to bring my skills and educational background to the Trojan community. As things go, I was a "late bloomer" to the teaching field. Before attending Saint Francis University, which is located in Loretto, PA, I was a stay at home mom and enjoyed supporting my two boys - Avery and Michael.
However, in 2003, I decided it was now or never if I was going to become a teacher. So, with a lot of hard work, I graduated in 2006 with a BS in Elementary Ed/Special Ed. and minor in English. After graduation, I continued to work hard and attained two masters degrees and five certifications. As for my teaching experience, I have been in both the private and public sector instructing children in the areas of autism, learning support, emotional support, alternative ed., and general education. I have taught many subjects, coached basketball and softball, and dabbled as a SADD advisor.
When I am not at the school, I own a landscaping business that keeps me out of trouble during my summer break. I also enjoy watching sports (Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins), riding my motorcycle, fishing, playing the piano, and cuddling with my fur babies at home.
In conclusion, I look forward to using my vast array of skills and teaching methods (hands-on, research, technology, note taking, visual, verbal, etc.) to engage and support YOUR CHILD! If you have any questions, please contact me via email or phone, and I will return your message ASAP! Thank you!
