Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Shay Heebner
My name is Mrs. Shay Heebner. I graduated from Shippensburg University with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education in December of 2017. Over the course of 2017 my husband, Josh, and I got married, purchased a home together in Chambersburg, and welcomed 2 dogs into our family! My husband is also a 7th grade teacher in a local school district. In our spare time away from school, we enjoy spending time at the beach, taking our dogs on walks, and enjoying time with our family.
I am in a unique situation, as I have sister who is currently in 7th grade! This gives me an easy connection with my 7th grade students that I see each day. Below you will see a picture of my dogs with us at the beach from this summer (Harley = Black Lab Mix, Blazer = Maltese Mix). You will also find a picture of my family from last spring when we celebrated the graduation of my sister from high school.
At CAMS-South, I teach students who qualify for Learning Support and Autistic Support services for their ELA (English Language Arts) class. Every other day, I also teach a Social Skills class to students with Autism, where we explore how to appropriately approach peers and adults, deal with our emotions, as well as new skills to use in a future workplace setting. I truly enjoy what I do and look forward to seeing my students each day!
