Become a Bus Driver

How to Maintain School Bus Credentials: 

Every four years a school bus driver must:

• Complete 7 hours classroom refresher training and 3 hours in-bus training
• Pass the school bus endorsement exam at DMV
• Pass skills test (must be same class driver)

How to Become a Bus Driver:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must obtain a commercial learner's permit @ DMV
  • Submit DL-31CD permit application, a Self-Certification form (DL-11CD), School Bus Driver's Physical Examination form (DL-704)
• Complete 14 hours classroom instruction and 6 hour in-bus training
