Retirement for Employees
Employee Retirement
Employees,
When considering retirement, please contact PSERS to begin the retirement process, even if you have not yet decided on a retirement date. Once your retirement date is determined, please notify Human Resources and submit a retirement letter to the District.
Note: It is best practice to notify PSERS as early as possible when considering retirement. PSERS conducts an audit of each employee’s years of service, and this process can take some time to complete. Once CASD receives the audit results, the district has two weeks to review and respond to the findings.
Health Insurance Benefits
Eligible retirees may continue District medical coverage at their own cost until age 65. COBRA continuation coverage is administered through CM Regent, who will send information regarding available coverage options upon retirement.
Contact Human Resources or the Business Office with general retirement questions. If you receive correspondence from PSERS regarding your retirement benefits, please contact PSERS directly, as the District cannot answer questions about your individual PSERS account.
Notify the district of any change of address before or after retirement.
