Classroom Snacks

Safety and health are a primary concern for our students. In accordance with District policy 246, we require all snacks being provided in the classroom be “smart snack” compliant. This brochure provides a list of pre-approved items.

Please note the following:

* All items provided for students must be Smart Snack compliant. If you are unsure if the snack you wish to provide is compliant, you can use the USDA Smart Snack Calculator to find out.

* Chambersburg Area School District is a NUT FREE district. For the Health and Safety of ALL students and Staff, no food brought into the schools is allowed to contain Peanuts or Tree Nuts.

* All store bought snacks brought into the school must be in original, sealed packaging with a legible ingredient list.

* Any non-commercially packaged foods would need to be provided by the Food Service Department. You can contact your school's Cafeteria Manager directly or the Food Service Office
