Chambersburg NJROTC was awarded Distinguished Unit with Academic Honors status by Naval Service Training Command on October 28th, 2025, during the regular CASD Board Meeting. Distinguished Unit Status places Chambersburg in the top 25% of all Navy Junior ROTC programs worldwide, and Academic Honors are awarded to only the top 10% of all units.

CASD will host a Veteran's recognition event in conjunction with the Trojan home football game on October 17th at Chambersburg Area Senior High School. Gates will open for Veterans at 5pm, and a complimentary dinner will be served to Veterans and their guests in the CASHS Cafeteria starting at 5:30 PM.

CASD hosted its annual Trojan Walk on September 25, 2025, raising  $9,180 for the Special Education Department through donations, ticket sales, and community support.

Chambersburg Area School District Police Department, PA, K9 Gunner has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s.

CASD’s 2025 Trojan Walk will feature the “Incredible Inflatable Race,” where administrators in costumes compete to raise funds. Support CASD’s 1,500 special ed students by donating by Sept 23.

CASD has been recognized as a "Great PA School" by the Pennsylvania School Boards Association for its academic rigor, community focus, resilience, and financial strength. The district was presented with a banner for the achievement at the August 19 board meeting

In a continued effort to improve safety and security, the district will implement a weapons detection system at all entrances to the CASHS Trojan stadium, starting with the game this Friday, August 22nd. This process will be similar to security screenings at airports, courthouses or large public events, where attendees will be briefly scanned for unauthorized items prior to entering the stadium.
