Chapter Unit Overview and Class Notes: Students will learn free time activities such as playing sports, musical instrucments or games, hobbies and other passtimes, expressing likes and dislikes, understand how present tense in German compares to the 3 English present tenses, learn the days of the week, times of day and telling time using a clock. Students will learn how time expressions can be incorporated into German sentences, how word order may change to emphasize elements. Students will learn about German television broadcasting and how free time activities and sports are organized differently in Germany.
Fun Fact: As a 23-year-old German university student, Paul Nipkow proposed and patented the first electromechanical television system in 1884.
