Hello! I am very excited to be teaching here at CASHS. I am currently teaching Sports & Entertainment Marketing, Information Communications Technology, and Entrepreneurship.
I have been teaching at CASHS since 2015. I graduated from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Education with a Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in Business Education and a Minor in Information Technology & Management. Before I attended Bloomsburg University I graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, PA.
In my free time, I enjoy golfing, basketball, tennis, ping pong, reading, and watching the Green Bay Packers.
Educational Philosophy: I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. I think that it is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in those areas by providing an environment that is safe where students feel that they can take risks and share ideas. I truly believe that a person misses 100% of the shots they do not take, so why not take that shot and succeed. I want my students to be life-long learners and I believe that I can guide them in the right direction and present opportunities where they can succeed in the real world. Developing a curriculum around student interests fosters intrinsic motivation and stimulates the passion to learn. One way to take learning in a direction relevant to student interest is to invite student dialogue about the lessons and units of study. Given the opportunity for input, students generate ideas and set goals that make for much richer activities than I could have created or imagined myself. For me teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and growth. One of my goals is to instill a love of learning in my students as I share my own passion for learning with them.
