What is service learning? Service learning provides students with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the athletic training field.
What will I get to see and do? Students will have the opportunity to observe everyday operations in an athletic training room. You will learn how to tape and wrap various injuries. Classroom instruction includes medical terminology, universal precautions, and anatomy.
What will a day be like? You will be asked to complete daily tasks, such as laundry, restocking the taping station, inventory, washing down tables, filing, etc.
Will I get to help at games? Yes. Each student is required to assist at one game a week. This allows you to see and use what you have learned in the classroom.
How do I join service learning? You should stop in the athletic training room and speak to Chasity and Traci. Students are then advised to speak with Mrs. Traynor and their guidance counselor.
