Title I Department

Title I is a 100% federally funded supplemental education program that provides financial assistance to Chambersburg Area School District (CASD) and many other local educational agencies to improve educational opportunities for educationally deprived children. CASD's Title I programs are designed to help children meet the state content and performance standards in reading and mathematics.

A portion of the Title I funding is given to each building for Parent and Family Engagement events and resources. Additionally, the district also has its own Parent and Family Engagement funding for large-scale purchases and events for all Title I students.

Program Description Title I is a federally funded program designed to aid students in achieving academic success and equipping families with the resources needed to support this success in the home. In addition to funding the Title I Instructional Specialists, aides, and additional staff, the funds are also used for a robust Parent and Family Engagement program as well as numerous books and other resources designed to offer supplemental instructional support in all classrooms, K-5.
