  • I've lost my contacts on my iPhone. How do I get them back?

    Posted by:

    First Method:

    1. Go to settings
    2. Go to Mail
    3. Go to accounts
    4. Go to exchange and delete that account (the old account)
    5. Now "add account"
    6. Choose Microsoft Exchange
    7. Enter your email account
    8. At this point, it should take you through signing in and authenticating your account.
    9. At this point, make sure your contact button is turned on and your contacts should reappear on your phone.

    Second Method:

If the first method doesn't work, another method that we have seen to try is:

Go to Settings>Mail>Accounts>Exchange and make sure that all of your “sliders” are on.  We have seen numerous iPhones where they only have mail selected.

    Third Method:

A third option, which is similar to your first option, is the following:

  • How do I add or change a phone number?

    Posted by:

You can add new phone numbers, or update existing numbers, from the Additional security verification page. Microsoft strongly recommends that you add a secondary phone number to help prevent being locked out of your account if your primary phone is lost or stolen, or if you get a new phone and no longer have your original, primary phone number.

    To change your phone numbers

    1. From the How would you like to respond? section of the Additional security verification page., update the phone number information for your Authentication phone (your primary mobile device) and your Office phone.

    2. Select the box next to the Alternate authentication phone option, and then type in a secondary phone number where you can receive phone calls if you can't access your primary device.

    3. Select Save.

  • What is multifactor authentication or MFA?

    Posted by:

Multifactor authentication, or MFA for short, is an extra layer of security for your Microsoft 365 portal login that is designed to ensure that you’re the only one that can access account, even if someone knows your password.  MFA is a proven and effective way to protect against many security threats that target passwords, such as phishing.  A great video that explains MFA is located here:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEHhivPJQ5w

  • Do I have to use my personal phone?

You are not required to use your phone and have other options.  However, opting not to do so means having to use a less efficient method to verify your account.

  • I am retiring at the end of the year. Can I skip downloading the app? Do I need to setup MFA?

    Posted by:

If you do not set up MFA, you will be able to access your email inside the District, but will not be able to access your email outside of the District.  Optionally, you can set up MFA without the app and use a phone number or other options provided instead of the app. VMWare is a third option.  However, if you only need to use email for your last week of work and only need to access it while at work, it may not be necessary.
