The ammunition, handguns and clothing are for CASD's police officers. While CASD personnel will follow a dress code 2012-2013 and students in 2013-2014, we are providing prescribed equipment and uniforms for the police officers. Unlike the purchase of clothing necessary to follow a dress code, police uniforms are appropriately worn only while on duty. We will provide uniforms to our police officers rather than having them purchase their own uniforms and claiming them as a tax deductible expense. The former Reserve Center, when CASD takes possession, will provide storage and office space for police equipment and personnel.

  • 8/22/2012 - Regular Board Meeting: Clarification was requested regarding the disposition of printe

The managed printing initiative replaces approximately 700 ink-jet type printers in classrooms during the 2011-2012 year and replaces them with fewer Xerox multi-function devices (print-copy-scan-fax) in our schools' classrooms and hallways. The cost per page using ink-jet printers is often more than double the cost of other print devices, providing operational savings. In addition, Xerox staff will maintain the multi-function devices as they already maintain devices in our school offices, reducing the need for hiring additional CASD staff to keep such large quantities of ink-jet printers in good repair. CASD personel will remove the ink-jet printers from the classrooms for the start of the 2012-2013 school year and sell them to a technology remarketing firm as soon as CASD personnel inventory the ink-jet printers and remove them from our asset records.
