Hello!  My name is Mrs. Shuman and I am pleased to be starting my 24th year of teaching first grade.  I received my bachelor's degree in elementary education and master's degree in reading/reading specialist certification from Shippensburg University.  My husband and I have 2 children.  Our son is 18 and loves to fish.  He is a freshman in college this year.   Our daughter is 16 and is a sophomore.  She loves to paint, play softball and relax with friends.  We enjoy spending time as a family playing games, camping, fishing, swimming, playing outside, and going to the beach. 

My goal for this year is for your children to grow socially, emotionally and academically.  Your children will be encouraged to reach beyond their comfort zone sometimes to challenge their brains and build confidence in themselves.
