The IB diploma graduate destinations survey 2011 for the USA indicates (of those who responded)
- 99% planned to undertake further study beyond high school
- 95% attended a public high school
- the average accepatance rate of IB students into university/college is 22 percentage points higher than the average acceptance rate of the total population
- 84% of IB students are attending their top choice university/college and 92% are studying thier top choice of program of study
- 61% received scholarships
- 97% of students felt very well or well prepared for their future studies
Students who have completed the Diploma Programme while in high school are more likely to:
- be granted admission at much higher rates than non IB students to their university of choice
- be granted scholarships, preferential housing and course selection
- receive college credit for their IB courses - some students are given sophomore status upon college enrollment
