    The students are very excited about learning to play the recorder!  The recorder is a lovely sounding instrument from the woodwind family.   It is also very fun to play!  The third graders will be beginning their first lessons soon.  The fourth graders will receive the second level book of the recorder series and will advance further this year.

    Because of health issues, it is important that each student has their own recorder.  Your student can purchase a recorder for $6.00, use a recorder you may already own, or be loaned a recorder until it can be purchased. 

    Our school district purchases a high quality three piece recorder at a discounted price.  These instruments sound much better and are easier to clean than the one piece toy recorders that some stores sell.

     

    Every student needs to return the bottom portion of this letter as follows:

    1.     Fill-out the bottom portion of this page and sign it.

    2.     If you are buying a recorder, please put $6.00 in cash into an envelope with your child’s name

            on the outside.  NO checks!

    3.     Return the forms and money to your child’s classroom teacher.
