Elementary Education prek-4
Welcome to Ms. Peterson's Class!
I can't wait to meet all of you this upcoming school year! I am excited to welcome you into my classroom! I believe that education is not a one-size-fits-all discipline and it is essential that my approach is tailored to the specific learning needs of each student. Therefore, I aim to provide a positive, engaging, nurturing, learning environment for each of my students.
I was born and raised in Chambersburg and graduated from CASHS. I earned a bachelors degree in elementary education from Wilson College. I am state certified in elementary education grades pre-k to 4. I plan to begin work towards my Masters degree in the near future.
I began my teaching career employed at Keyston Star five early childhood education center, working with students aged six weeks through five years. I worked there for a number of years while attending classes at Wilson College. During my coursework, I completed a one-year-long work study program in kindergarten, pre-practicum in kindergarten, and student teaching in a second grade classroom. All of these learning experiences were within the CASD. Last school year, I taught as a long-term substitute at Lurgan Elementary. I am thrilled to be able to stay at Lurgan and begin my long-term teaching career as a first grade teacher.
Personally, I live with my family in Orrstown. Taylor and I have three children who keep us busy with extracurricular activities, including baseball, softball, basketball, and volleyball. In my free time, I enjoy watching sports with my family. Go PSU! I also enjoy traveling and seeing new places. The beach is always a must during my summer break!
Please feel free to reach out anytime with questions or concerns. We share a common goal, which is to guide your child to success!
