CASD is proud to announce that four of its schools have been recognized in the U.S. News & World Report's 2025 Best schools rankings: Guilford Hills Elementary, Hamilton Heights Elementary, Chambersburg Area Middle School North, and Chambersburg Area Middle School South.

The Chambersburg Area School District (CASD) is proud to announce the hiring of 13 Deans of Student Affairs, one for each elementary school, as part of a strategic initiative to enhance student support, promote positive behavior, and improve overall school management. These positions are a critical component of the district’s Schools of Distinction by 2030 plan.

The 124 cadets of the Chambersburg Area School District (CASD) Navy Junior ROTC presented its 10th annual Pass-in-Review ceremony at Chambersburg Area Senior High School on March 5, 2025. The Pass-in-Review is conducted as part of the annual Navy certification of the NJROTC program and is the capstone event of the cadets’ program year.

The Chambersburg Area School District (CASD) celebrated the opening of the Chambersburg Engagement Center (CEC) on Thursday, Feb. 27, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event included a tour of the downtown facility at 20 South Main Street, refreshments, and a Q&A session with district leadership. The ceremony was attended by over 50 community members, including local officials, CASD board members, members of the media, and district staff.

CASD is pleased to announce the opening of the Chambersburg Engagement Center (CEC). Located on the downtown square in Chambersburg (20 South Main Street) the CEC is designed to create a more comprehensive and streamlined registration process for families, and will centralize key services that were previously spread across various schools.

Located on the downtown square in Chambersburg (20 South Main Street) the CEC is designed to create a more comprehensive and streamlined registration process for families, and will centralize key services that were previously spread across various schools.

Auditor General Timothy DeFoor interacted with students and discussed the importance of financial literacy and spending within your means. Students also shared their own lessons from the class, such as how to create expense tracking sheets and determining if purchases are wants vs. needs. Thank you to Auditor General DeFoor, as well as PA State Rep. Rob Kauffman and CASD Board Member Stephanie Harbaugh for visiting CMS!
