NJROTC Pass-In-Review
The 124 cadets of the Chambersburg Area School District (CASD) Navy Junior ROTC presented its 10th annual Pass-in-Review ceremony at Chambersburg Area Senior High School on March 5, 2025. The Pass-in-Review is conducted as part of the annual Navy certification of the NJROTC program and is the capstone event of the cadets’ program year.
CASD Holds Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Downtown Center
The Chambersburg Area School District (CASD) celebrated the opening of the Chambersburg Engagement Center (CEC) on Thursday, Feb. 27, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event included a tour of the downtown facility at 20 South Main Street, refreshments, and a Q&A session with district leadership. The ceremony was attended by over 50 community members, including local officials, CASD board members, members of the media, and district staff.

CASD Opens Downtown Engagement Center
CASD is pleased to announce the opening of the Chambersburg Engagement Center (CEC). Located on the downtown square in Chambersburg (20 South Main Street) the CEC is designed to create a more comprehensive and streamlined registration process for families, and will centralize key services that were previously spread across various schools.
PA Auditor General visits CMS
Auditor General Timothy DeFoor interacted with students and discussed the importance of financial literacy and spending within your means. Students also shared their own lessons from the class, such as how to create expense tracking sheets and determining if purchases are wants vs. needs. Thank you to Auditor General DeFoor, as well as PA State Rep. Rob Kauffman and CASD Board Member Stephanie Harbaugh for visiting CMS!
CASHS Teacher Receives 2024 Yale Educator Award
Stephanie Parrett was designated a recipient of the 2024 Yale Educator Award by the Yale Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Mrs. Parrett was recognized for the award at the 09/06 CASHS home football game by building principal Brad Ocker. Read more here.

On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, the Chambersburg Area School District will hold a Committee-of-the-Whole Board meeting starting at 7:00 p.m.

The FCCTC is conducting a survey to gather input from local industry representatives and other stakeholders on the current workforce and training needs in the county. Families and community members connected to local businesses are encouraged to participate.
